His Holiness Rahuleshwarananji

HIS HOLINESS RAHULESHWARANANDJI, also known as Gurudev, is renowned as a living and blessed temple of spiritual knowledge, truth and absolute love who strives to end our suffering, fear and other problems, directing our minds towards our eternal quest of life.

Gurudev was born in 1966, in a small town of Vasai near Mumbai (Bombay), India, on the holiday Deepawali (The festival of lights). Raised in a loving, serene and pious environment by an extremely devout Hindu family, his interests soon turned to matters of spiritual growth and religious virtue.

At the age of 18 he left home, inspired by his first Guru, a wandering sage named Jagdish Muni Maharaj who initiated him in the "Sadhana," the practice of penance on invoking Goddess Padmavati, a form of Maha Lakshmi. The goddess herself then became his spiritual guide and led him to "Siddhashram," a place in the Himalayas populated by great yogis, sages and sadhus. There he met Swami Satchidanandji, the supreme spiritual Guru of all gurus and ascetics. Under the guidance of his highest eternal spiritual master Swami Sacchidanandji, Gurudev received Diksha (initiation) to the worship of Goddess Chamunda.

Gurudev soon made astounding progress in the spiritual field and found himself preaching and practicing the teachings of Sanatan Dharma (the Vedic path of life). Many yogis and ascetics came forward to favor the young Gurudev with their all-spiritual attainments. He spent 15 years traveling all over the Himalayas, acquiring knowledge from several exalted swamis and yogis.

In 1992, Sri Trijataji commanded him to go into the world and spread this ancient knowledge that he had learned. Gurudev set out on a worldwide quest to help people find the right path in life, to aid the poor and downtrodden, and care for defenseless creatures of all kinds. Since then he has established Temples in Vasai, Badrinath in the Himalayas, Rishikesh and now in the United States, spreading his passion in love, the message of the Vedic Path.
